FeelZing

Most people would agree that modern life is tiring. No wonder energy-boosting products are so popular. Some people may settle for a cup of coffee, while others may try various kinds of dietary supplements. FeelZing takes a different approach. It uses electrical stimulation to “zing” your nerves and bring you to life (https://longevity.technology/lifestyle/feelzing-review-the-energy-patch-to-make-you-feel-amazing/).

FeelZing is the brainchild of a company called Thync. Scientists developed a little patch to place behind your ear. The base of the patch is hydrogel and flex, then there’s a small smart circuit, and then it’s topped with a cotton cover. This patch can release electricity in a unique, patented waveform that is high-amplitude and high-frequency. It’s been specifically designed by Thync scientists to cause something called transcutaneous peripheral nerve stimulation (tPNS).

In theory, this stimulation should involve nerves in our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The sympathetic nervous system is responsible for our so-called “fight or flight” response to stress, while the parasympathetic nervous system is in charge of what’s known as “rest and digest”, when our body is relaxed. These systems need to be balanced so we can be alert without being hypervigilant and calm without being lethargic. FeelZing aims to balance the two systems to improve focus and energy levels without going over the top.

This may sound a little farfetched, but similar principles have been used in other treatments, including in acupuncture. The difference is that acupuncture uses needles for simulation rather than electrical signals. If you’re still in doubt, Thync did carry out multiple trials before releasing FeelZing, building on a decade of experience working in neurostimulation.

One trial involved 70 participants, half wearing FeelZing and half wearing a placebo. They reported back whether they felt no effect or a mild, moderate or strong effect. 84% of those who used FeelZing reported it was moderately or strongly effective, compared to only 26% of the control group.

There aren’t any wires with the FeelZing patch, which is available in two strength levels, and you don’t need Bluetooth. Just pull the tab and make sure you stick it in the right spot behind your ear. You’ll feel it when it activates, and it may take a little getting used to, but subsequent patches may not be as intense.

If you can’t or don’t want to drink coffee, it may be worth giving FeelZing a try.
