3 Signs of A Hormone Imbalance

Hormones are pretty important for your body and your health, even if you don’t usually hear many details about them. These chemical messengers are almost like the post office of your body, and if they’re not working properly, you’re missing some pretty important deliveries!

A hormone imbalance isn’t always easy to spot at first, but if you’re experiencing any of the warning signs below, it’s time to take action.

A low libido

This can impact men and women. Low levels of testosterone in men can negatively impact their sex drive, and in women, falling levels of estrogen and testosterone can reduce their libidos. Talk to your doctor if you are experiencing this as they can run blood tests to see if, in fact, you’re suffering from low levels of these hormones and help you make a plan to tackle the problem.

Unexplained weight gain or loss

Your thyroid gland is what regulates your metabolism by secreting the appropriate hormones. If your gland begins secreting too little or too much of these hormones, you can find yourself suddenly gaining or losing weight despite no real changes in your diet or exercise routine. You may experience other symptoms, too, such as trouble regulating your body temperature. It’s important to see a doctor if you are experiencing these symptoms; if left untreated, there can be serious health complications. In addition, your doctor will need to rule out other serious illnesses or conditions that could be causing your weight to shift.

Chronic adult acne

As kids, we all were told that our changing hormones were responsible for the marks on our faces. We also heard that this would end once we finally became adults. If you’re still struggling with acne as an adult, it can be frustrating and damaging to your self-esteem. Work with your doctor and dermatologist to help identify the cause and to treat your adult acne. It can be due to many different hormone issues, including an imbalance or the wrong levels of a specific hormone.

You need properly balanced hormones to look and feel your best and to be as healthy as possible. Do not suffer in silence if you suspect you may have a hormone imbalance; consult with a doctor right away to identify what is going on so you can take the steps needed to get your body back on track.

Hormones And Histamine

If you know anything about histamine (and you’re not a doctor or scientist who studies the stuff), it’s probably because of allergies.
